Wii Sports Resort and Wii Party prices drop in North America

By Jack Taylor – 18 April 2011

Nintendo of America have confirmed that the retail prices for Wii Party and Wii Sports Resorts will be cut next week.

Effective next Monday, April 25, the games' suggested retail prices will drop from $49.99, the  standard retail price for Wii software, to $39.99.

Wii Sports Resort, which will continue to be packaged with a Wii MotionPlus attachment, has sold more than ten million units in the United States since its launch in July 2009.

Meanwhile, Wii Party, which is bundled with a Wii Remote in all regions except North America, is believed to have sold just over one million units since it launched last October.

The popular Wii series of games will soon be joined by Wii Play: Motion, Nintendo's latest Wii Remote Plus pack-in title, when it launches in North America on June 13.

Surely that's old news by now...
