E3: Nintendo confirms Super Fossil Fighters for Nintendo DS

By Jack Taylor – 14 June 2011

After launching in Japan last November, Nintendo has confirmed that Super Fossil Fighters will launch in North America.

The sequel to the popular Fossil Fighters game released for the Nintendo DS in 2009, Super Fossil Fighters will launch in North America this holiday season.

However, it is unknown if the title will launch in Europe: the original Fossil Fighters did not, though it launched in Australia, another PAL region.

Described as "Pokémon with dinosaurs", the Fossil Fighters games let players dig up and clean fossils to revive into a species called Vivosaurs.

The better a fossil has been cleaned, the more powerful the Vivosaur will be once it has been revived.

Competitors, known as Fossil Fighters, can then pit their Vivosaurs against each other in competition.

Surely that's old news by now...
